Rental terms

Short and fair, written the way I'd explain them to a friend. Booking an outfit means you agree to these. Last updated 22 October 2026.

Who you're renting from

DivsEdit is a small business run by Divya, a sole trader in Chatswood, NSW. Contact: WhatsApp +61403162153 or Instagram @divsedit.

Hire period

4 days. Your outfit arrives the day before your event and goes back the day after. 8 days on request.

Booking and payment

Your booking is confirmed once the hire and the $100 bond are paid, online by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay (processed securely by Stripe; I never see your card details), or by PayID if we've arranged it by message. Prices are in Australian dollars.

Changing your mind

The hire fee isn't refundable if you change your mind or your plans change, because the outfit is held just for you and I turn other renters away. Message me early and I'll try to help, for example by moving your date if the outfit is free.

If something goes wrong on my side

If the outfit can't go out, isn't as described, has a problem I didn't tell you about, or doesn't reach you in time because of me, you'll get a full refund of the hire fee (or a swap, if you'd prefer), plus your bond.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our services and the outfits you hire come with guarantees that can't be excluded, and these terms apply only as far as the law allows.

Bond

$100 for every outfit, refunded in full within 2 days of it coming back in good condition. Card refunds can take 5 to 10 business days to show in your account, depending on your bank.

Extending

Want it longer? Extend for the same length at 10% off, if it's free. Ask before your return date.

Late returns

Without an agreed extension, late returns are $20 a day, taken from the bond, to cover the bookings I have to move or turn away. If your return day is a Sunday or public holiday, post it the next business day and keep the receipt.

Cleaning and care

Cleaning is included. Please don't wash, iron or steam it: for creases, hang it in a steamy bathroom. No alterations, pins or fashion tape.

Damage

Normal wear is fine, and small fixes like a loose thread or bead are on me. For anything more, I'll send you photos and the repair or cleaning quote before anything comes out of the bond, and I'll only charge the reasonable cost. If you disagree, message me and we'll work it out fairly.

Loss

If an outfit is lost or can't be repaired, you pay the reasonable replacement value of the piece (the bond counts towards it). Ask me before you book if you'd like to know the value. An outfit not returned 14 days after the return date, without contact from you, is treated as lost.

Doesn't fit?

Message me within 12 hours of it arriving and I'll swap it for another available outfit in your size (you cover any extra postage).

Back-up outfit

Add a second outfit for $25. Return the one you don't wear unworn, with tags on. If both are worn, the full hire applies to the second.

First-hire offer (HELLO20)

$20 off the hire fee of your first booking with DivsEdit. One per person, not on the bond or postage, can't be swapped for cash or used with other offers.

Try-ons in Chatswood

Try-ons are by appointment at my home. I'll send the address privately once we've arranged a time. Please don't share it.

Your photos

If you send me photos of you in an outfit, I'll always ask before sharing them on Instagram or the website.

Under 18

A parent or guardian needs to make the booking and is responsible for it.

Buying

Most pieces can be bought. Just ask and I'll give you a price.

Designer names

Designer and label names are used only to describe the pieces. DivsEdit isn't connected with or endorsed by the designers.

Privacy

How I handle your details is explained in the privacy policy.

Changes and law

I may update these terms; the version on the website when you book applies to your booking. These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales.
